Eleven Lindt Easter products recalled

An Easter treat, the Lindt chocolate egg, is being recalled because it may contain peanut butter.

Lindt and Sprungli Australia Ltd today said it has recalled all 11 products containing its Lindor 16g milk egg.

The company was working with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and the NSW Food Authority to investigate whether the chocolates contain peanut butter.

"We understand that the temporary unavailability of these Easter chocolates may cause some inconvenience to families but customer wellbeing is our first priority," Lindt Australia chief executive Steve Loane said.

"We were recently made aware that elements of peanut butter were found in the 16g milk egg.

"We are placing a voluntary recall on all potentially affected products, as any consumers who have a peanut allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if they consume the products in question."

Consumers can return the products directly to their retailer for a refund or replacement, Mr Loane said.
