There has been a bit of head-scratching in the Taranaki settlement of Oakura after an electricity company mailed a bill to a street lamp.
Clive Saleman received the bill from Meridian Energy to his home address that demanded payment for the power being supplied to the piece of roadside infrastructure.
Upon closer inspection, it turns out the letter - to 'the occupier of Streetlight Control Point 394' - had been sent in error.
Mr Saleman wonders who might have been living in the lamp.
