KEY POINTS:
Police say they are concerned for the safety of a barefooted elderly Auckland woman who has been missing from her home since this morning.
Auckland police inspector Gary Hill said Alice Adamson, 72, went missing from Otara about 5am and was last seen on Preston Road heading towards East Tamaki at 5.30am.
Police said they were particularly concerned for her safety because of a heart condition which required medication.
Ms Adamson is described as Caucasian, small build, has brown hair and was last seen wearing a black skirt, black top, with no shoes on.
Anybody who sees a woman fitting this description are asked to contact police immediately.
