Elderly woman struck by car dies of injuries

An elderly woman who was struck by a car as she ran across a busy Auckland road with her grandson died from her injuries, police said yesterday.

Aihui Wu, 68, was crossing Great South Rd in Otahuhu with her grandson, almost three, when she was hit last Wednesday.

The toddler was thrown from her arms and suffered only bruising.
