An examination will be carried out today at the house in the Auckland suburb of Highland Park where a woman died following a fire.
Steve Smith, of northern fire communications, said emergency services were called to the blaze, believed to be on Aberfeldy Avenue, at 11.41pm.

It took just over an hour and a half for the five appliances to get the blaze under control.
The dead woman was believed to be the elderly resident of the property.
Her name will be released once next of kin has been advised.
