A 65-year-old woman involved in a crash in Waharoa, near Matamata, on Monday has died.
Jennifer Dorrian was taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition after her car left the road and crashed into a fence on State Highway 27.
Police are yet to establish the cause of the crash, but said they were alarmed at the high number of fatal and serious crashes in the area involving women.
Last week a young woman died when she failed to negotiate a bend and rolled her car on the Morrinsville-Walton Rd.
Last month a female passenger was seriously injured when the car she was in failed to stop for police on State Highway 27 and collided with a truck and trailer.
