An elderly woman is in a critical condition in an intensive care unit after a crash in Taupo yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said the crash happened about 2.45pm on State Highway 1, around 2.5km from Taupo Airport, near the intersection with Mahuta Rd.
The woman was flown via helicopter to Waikato Hospital.
This morning, a Waikato District Health Board spokeswoman confirmed the woman was in intensive care, and her condition was still critical.
Police have spoken with the driver of another vehicle.
