An elderly woman has been assaulted in her Porirua home after a group of disorderly and abusive people arrived at the address.
Police were called to a "family harm and custody related incident" on Warspite Ave after 7pm yesterday.
A woman left the elderly woman's house before a raucous group of people arrived outside.
In the midst of the disorder, an unknown female entered the home and had an argument with the elderly lady before assaulting her.
A police spokesperson said a man was later removed from the address as a precaution due to the original family harm-related incident.
