One of three men squashed between a taxi and a Mercedes Benz two months ago says he doesn't want to see the driver face criminal conviction.
Bette McIlroy, 80, pleaded guilty to three charges of careless driving and causing injury when she appeared in Manukau District Court this morning, after she hit three men at the Auckland Airport in June.
Palmerston North accountant Dave Bennett, who suffered serious leg injuries as a result of the accident, said he didn't want the court proceedings to continue.
"We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, it was a complete accident you know. I didn't think the lady had done anything intentional.
"If I hadn't been there and she'd hit the back of the taxi, it would've been the matter of her insurance company and the taxi driver's company.''
