An elderly man's death in his Hamilton home is no longer being treated as suspicious following a post-mortem examination yesterday.
Police launched an investigation after the 79-year-old man was found dead in the bed of his Matai St home on Wednesday with what appeared to be a head injury.
The death was treated as suspicious while a post-mortem examination and scene examination were carried out.
Waikato police district field crime manager Detective Inspector Karl Thornton said a post-mortem examination completed in Auckland yesterday afternoon had indicated the man's death was from natural causes.
"Waikato police would like to extend their sympathies to the family for their loss and the man's death has been reported to the coroner."
