An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital after the truck he was driving crashed down a steep bank in South Auckland.
The 80-year-old's light truck left the Clevedon-Kawakawa Rd and tumbled 150 metres down a bank before coming to a stop before a creek.
An Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesman said the man was ejected from the truck as it rolled and suffered multiple injuries.
He was given two units of blood by the attending Helicopter Emergency Medical Service and flown to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition.
