An elderly man has been pulled out of a South Auckland drain by emergency services after he fell in and could not get out.
A Fire Service spokesperson said a neighbour raised the alarm after discovering the pensioner had fallen into a drain on Great South Road in Manurewa and needed help getting out.
It was not known how the man came to fall in the drain but he was not believe to be badly injured.
Ambulance staff were checking out the man at the scene, said the spokesman.
