Elderly man killed crossing road

An 84-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle near Palmerston North this morning.

The man was crossing Reid Line, between Ashhurst and Bunnythorpe about 9am.

He was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with serious injuries but died soon after.
