An elderly Hawke's Bay man who was thought to have gone missing during a car trip to Wellington has shown up safe and sound back at his home.
Police had asked the public to keep an eye out for the man's vehicle after he failed to arrive in Wellington yesterday afternoon.
Police Communications Inspector Ken Climo said once in Wellington, the man could not locate the address he was to stay at.
He decided to drive back to the Hawke's Bay where he discovered a concerned message from his wife on the answer phone.
