Elderly man dies in Reporoa blaze

An elderly man died in a house fire at Reporoa, between Taupo and Rotorua, about 8.45 last night.

Rotorua chief fire officer Wayne Bedford said the roof had already collapsed when the Fire Service arrived.

"We could see it on the highway coming from Rotorua ... Sometime after, they found the deceased in the fire."
