Elderly man attacked by dog in Wanganui

A dog has been impounded after attacking an elderly man in Wanganui on Monday, Wanganui District Council says.

The bull terrier cross rushed at the man and bit him on the leg, causing him to fall over and leaving a puncture wound, acting Mayor Dot McKinnon said.

The dog would be destroyed and its owner prosecuted, she said.
