Police today examined a Hamilton property after the body of an elderly man was discovered there yesterday afternoon.
Waikato District Field Crime manager Detective Inspector Karl Thornton said the body of the 79-year-old man was removed from his Matai St home this afternoon and a post-mortem examination would be done in Auckland later today.
"The unexplained sudden death will continue to be treated as suspicious until such time as the results of these examinations determine otherwise,'' he said.
An investigation was launched after the man was found dead in his bed with what appeared to be a head injury.
