An eldelrly Nelson couple have been found dead in their home in an apparent assisted suicide/suicide today.
Nelson police have confirmed the couple - who were aged in their eighties and have not been named until next of kin can be notified - were discovered about 1pm today.
Detective Sean Young said police were alerted by a visitor to the house that the couple were not answering their door and meals left at the address had not been taken inside.
When police entered the house they found the couple both deceased.
They are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
