Paul, Mahoney and Turnbull are basically guaranteed places in Saturday's starting line-up while Tafatu is likely to come off the reserve bench. Baker will be in attendance but will probably be in a watching capacity as she works her way back to full fitness after being sidelined for some months with health issues.
Two other Eketahuna players, loose forward Emma Aldworth and prop Kelly Hunt, would also have been in the team had they been available. Hunt has withdrawn for personal reasons while Aldworth is on the injured list and looks set to be sidelined for the rest of the 2013 season.
For Black Fern Mahoney the chance to play at provincial level on her home ground is "very exciting".
"These sort of games don't come to places like Eketahuna very often. It'll be nice to give the girls a taste of what real country rugby is like," she said.
Not that the earlier kick-off time is ideal for Mahoney who, typically, will be out on the farm from 5.30am helping husband Luke feed 1200 calves.
"I guess it's going to be a bit of a rush but them's the breaks, you just have to cope," she said.
The Manawatu squad mainly consists of players from the Feilding Old Boys and Eketahuna teams whose clash last month decided the winner of the Prue Christie Cup club competition - Feilding winning 11-10 - and Saturday's match is an ideal opportunity for them to test combinations before the more serious business of the NPC gets under way.
Mahoney sees Manawatu playing an attacking style of rugby based around the speed and flair of a backline containing several players who have repped for New Zealand at sevens.
"We don't have the biggest pack around but there is plenty of mobility there as well so I guess we won't be wanting to spend a lot of time at the set pieces."
