Eketahuna made it two from two in the Wellington premier division women's rugby competition with a resounding 47-3 win over Wainuiomata at Eketahuna on Saturday.
The final scoreline epitomised the merits of the two teams with Eketahuna dominating the battle for possession up front and being too slick and adventurous for Wainuiomata in the backs.
Eketahuna coach Syd Tatana was particularly happy with the solidity of his forwards in the set pieces of lineout and scrum and also with their speed to the breakdowns. Lock Koko Namana and No8 Emma Aldworth were the standouts there. Given an ample supply of quality possession, the Eketahuna backs cut loose on a regular basis, with Heidi Whitman and Shakira Baker scoring three tries apiece and Black Fern Rebecca Mahoney two.
