The Cross Country Rentals Eketahuna Women's Rugby Team were "cleaned out" when they played a home game against Wainuiomata last weekend.
Coach Sid Tatana said the team did well, although they lost 38 points to nothing.
Key player Shakira Baker was away training for the NZ Sevens team, and Tatana said her absence was notable but may not have been key to the final result.
"I don't think it made much difference," he said. "We might have been a little bit better."
He said Wainuiomata played a good game, although Eketahuna did well in the line-outs and scrums.
