The Palmerston North rescue helicopter airlifted a severely burned Eketahuna teen during several Wairarapa rescues in past weeks.
On April 25, the Eketahuna Volunteer Fire Brigade, ambulance and the Palmerston North rescue helicopter were scrambled to a night mission to rescue a 16-year-old Eketahuna girl who had fallen into an outdoor fire.
The girl received severe burns to her legs and was airlifted from a farm on Mowbray Rd to Palmerston North Hospital.
On April 20, the rescue helicopter assisted a search and rescue mission for a man in the Tararua Ranges. The man was located at Field Hut and hoisted into the helicopter before being airlifted to safety.
