Police are investigating an 80 person brawl at a Kapiti Coast 21st party over the weekend.
Officers were called to the Otaki racecourse in the early hours of Sunday after several fights broke out among the crowds of partygoers.
One victim required surgery after being hit in the face with a beer bottle.
Police said they had not made any arrests so far, but were continuing to look into the incident.
