Eight-year-old girl hit by car

An eight-year-old girl has been taken to Wellington Hospital with head injuries after being hit by a car this afternoon.

Police said the girl was crossing the road at the corner of Bidwill and Wallace Streets in the suburb of Mt Cook when she was hit at about 5.45pm.

Police are speaking to the driver of the car and are seeking witnesses to the crash.
