Public Talk: What kind of city do the grassroots grow?
Blaine Merker, an urban designer and architect at Gehl Studio in San Francisco, will be among speakers descending on Christchurch for the International Congress on Adaptive Urbanism.
He and Dr Susan Stewart from the UTS School of Design in Sydney will give a public lecture on Tuesday 21 October at 6pm at CPIT on Madras Street.
The topic? Social and environmental justice and their impact on art and design.
Oxfam Water for Survival Pub Quiz
The Oxfam Water for Survival Committee are holding a pub quiz on October 22 from 6pm at Sale Street Bar on 7 Sale Street in Freemans Bay in Auckland.
Taking part costs $50 per team, which goes towards team fundraising targets for the Oxfam Water Challenge 2015.
Public Talk: Guy McPherson in New Zealand
Guy McPherson taught and conducted research at the University of Arizona for 20 years before leaving the university in 2009. He will speaking about climate change in guest lectures in New Zealand from October 22 to November 1.
Catch him at an event co-organised by AUT's School of Social Sciences and Public Policy and the Pacific Media Centre in Auckland on October 22 at 5.30pm.
He will also visit Tapu te Ranga Marae in Wellington on October 25 at 2pm.
