Auckland drivers have been warned to stay out of the city's bus lanes, despite the fact that Stagecoach bus drivers are striking across the city today, radio station Newstalk ZB has reported.
It's thought some drivers may feel the lanes, normally a no-go zone designated for buses only, are free for all today, but Newstalk ZB said that's not the case.
Early-morning passengers on the city rail network have reported that some commuters have been left standing on station platforms, unable to board already-full city-bound trains.
And it doesn't appear to be much better on the city's sprawling motorway arteries, either.
"The motorways are getting extremely clogged up", announced one inner-city worker, on her arrival at work around 8am after a drive into the city from West Auckland.
