The Education Minister will consider stepping in, amid a row between a college and a parent over school fees.
Otumoetai College in Tauranga is taking parent Ian Mason to court, for refusing to pay fees for three years, but Mr Mason says the school is charging for education which should be free.
Education Minister David Benson-Pope says the school appears to be acting in a highly irregular manner and he has requested it does not proceed with debt recovery in the courts.
Mr Benson-Pope hopes to have the results of the investigation by next week and says if they show the school is acting inappropriately he will take intervene.
