In a recent report, the European Food Safety Authority has labelled the use of nerve-agent neonicotinoid pesticides as an 'unacceptable' danger to bees.
Environmental groups say it sounds the 'death knell' for the chemicals, which are manufactured by Bayer. Bans on some neonicotinoid uses have already been implemented in France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia, but are still used in New Zealand.
