A highway through Wakaaranga schools and estuary would be nothing short of vandalism.
Tunnels or highways in the area of Farm Cove, Wakaaranga and St Kentigern College would be most unpopular decisions. If these two mayors think they can swing this option without a fight they are sadly mistaken. Let's go back to what this was meant to be about - moving people trapped in Howick, Pakuranga and Half Moon Bay on to the motorway system, and to get the harbour traffic clear of the Southern Motorway. An extra bridge over the bottlenecked Tamaki estuary is essential.
Have these planners ever taken a walk through the areas designated for the route? The bush and the birds are how I remember New Zealand in the 60s - a haven from the rest of Auckland that should remain for future generations. - Heather Byrne.

After the uproar of possibly losing 200 homes along Ti Rakau Drive, do they really think they will get away with going in and around schools, golf courses and even the Howick Little Theatre?
I live in the Golflands subdivision and my partner and I have worked hard and saved hard to build our home in a desirable location.
I am not prepared to sit by and watch the value of our house plummet.
I can guarantee that Barry Curtis isn't affected by any of the proposed roads, or John Banks. If they run light rail up Ti Irirangi Drive and to East Tamaki and Otara, linked with light rail down the motorway, the same thing will be achieved. - Vicky Jones.

We are appalled at the suggestion there should be a surface highway or bridge on the southwest side of Hobson Bay.
