KEY POINTS:
Bills aimed at liberalising Easter trading won't pass in time for this year's holiday.
Two MPs - National's Jacqui Dean and Labour's Steve Chadwick - have member's bills before Parliament which can be debated only on allocated days, usually fortnightly on a Wednesday.
Ms Dean's bill aims to allow shops to open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday while Ms Chadwick's would allow trading on Easter Sunday if local authorities had decided they could, after consultation with their local communities.
