Easter traders nabbed

Seventeen retailers across New Zealand, mostly garden centres, face legal action after Department of Labour inspectors caught them trading during yesterday's holiday.

The department declined to name the offenders and say what action it intended.

Last year dozens of shops chose to pay a $1000 fine to keep their doors open, prompting calls for harsher penalties.
