Earthquake strikes near Mount Cook

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake has struck near Mt Cook this morning.

The quake struck at 10.32 am about 30km north-west of Mt Cook. It was 4km deep.

According to Geonet the quake was felt as far north as Hokitika.
