KEY POINTS:
An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale has shaken Matata this morning.
The quake was widely felt and had a focal depth of 15km.
Matata chief fire officer Brian Dobson said: "It was just a usual shake for us".
He said the shake came in a wave of three but there have not been any calls to the fire station.
The GeoNet website recorded over 70 reports within an hour of the quake that struck just after 8.30am, 20km north of Matata. It was felt as far south as Gisborne and as far west as Tauranga.
