KEY POINTS:
An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale shook Fiordland this morning.
GNS Science said the quake - about the same strength as the one which happened off the east coast of Auckland a fortnight ago - hit at 10.59am and was centred 60km west of Te Anau at a depth of about 70km.
The quake was possibly felt by people in parts of Fiordland, Otago and Southland, GNS Science said.
