A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck the Bay of Plenty this afternoon but there have been no reports of damage.
GeoNet said the 100km-deep quake struck 20km southeast of Reporoa, midway between Rotorua and Taupo, at 3.11pm.
Police in both centres said there had been no reports of damage.
