A 4.6 magnitude earthquake has struck near Pongaroa on the East Coast of the North Island.
More than 1000 people reported feeling shaking, most of whom were in the Manawatu, according to Geo Net.
A twitter user in Feilding described the quake as "a little wobble", but another person in
Palmerston North said it was a "decent sharp shock n shake".
Geo Net has classified the earthquake, which struck at a depth of 34km, as "moderate".
