KEY POINTS:
An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the Marlborough region early this morning, GNS Science said.
The quake, which was felt as far north as New Plymouth had been reported by more than 60 people this morning on the GNS website.
The quake struck at 5.35am and was located 30km north of French Pass at a depth of 110km.
