Emergency services are at the scene in South Auckland where a car is believed to have hit a parked car.

A police spokeswoman said the accident happened shortly after six this morning, on Margaret Road in Papatoetoe.

She said few details were available at this stage as to any injuries, but understood four police cars were attending the scene.

Shortly after 7:30am a spokeswoman said the car's driver was being spoken to.

She said there would be no further updates as the investigation was ongoing.
