A Christchurch father facing charges of assaulting his two young sons has been further remanded to next week.
James Louis Mason, 49, was granted a second registrar's remand yesterday without having to appear in Christchurch District Court, Christchurch Court News website reported.
Mason, a professional musician, had complained publicly when police warned him about flicking his son on the ear. Police later charged him with assaulting both boys. Mason is due to appear again on March 7.
