United Future leader and Revenue Minister Peter Dunne last night exercised his right under the new liberal rules of collective responsibility to advocate a position outside of the Government's.
He called on New Zealand to pursue a free trade agreement with Taiwan after it had concluded the one it is negotiating with China. He made his call in a speech at a function at an Auckland business, Morning Star, founded by a Taiwanese businessman.
Unlike the official New Zealand position, followed by Labour and National Governments, Mr Dunne does not embrace the One-China policy.
