KEY POINTS:
United Future leader Peter Dunne is calling on the Government to convene a multi-party summit on climate change policy.
Yesterday new National leader John Key acknowledged climate change as a threat and said his party would develop policies to tackle it.
Former leader Don Brash had previously questioned whether climate change existed.
Mr Dunne today said there was now a real chance a multi-party position could be arrived at.
Labour needed to get support for its climate change policies - several of which would be released in coming weeks - if it wanted them to succeed, he said.
"That is why most of its efforts to date have failed, because it has not been able to build a parliamentary majority for its plans."
