Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a truck in central Dunedin this afternoon.
The 64-year-old woman, a Dunedin resident, was crossing Great King St at the Hanover St intersection about 1pm when she was hit by the truck, which was making a left turn, Senior Sergeant Bruce Ross of Dunedin police told NZPA. She died at the scene.
Her name was unavailable for release until next of kin were informed.
Mr Ross said police were investigating and would prepare a report for a coroner's inquest.
