KEY POINTS:
A 48-year-old Dunedin taxi driver has been arrested over allegations he deliberately hit an 18-year-old man.
The cab driver has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.
Dunedin police say the driver refused to take a group of students in his cab from the Countdown Central carpark.
It is then alleged he reversed out of a carpark and drove at a young man in the group, who flew up over the bonnet and landed on the ground.
The arrested man will appear in the Dunedin District Court next Thursday.
