Dunedin man fighting for life

A Dunedin man is fighting for his life after an alleged assault in a McDonald's outlet in the city early this morning.

Sergeant Chris George told NZPA the man received life-threatening injuries and was in Dunedin hospital following the 4.45am incident.

A 22-year-old appeared in Dunedin District Court this morning charged with assault. He was remanded in custody to reappear on Tuesday.
