A fugitive who went on the run in Dunedin has been found after eluding police for much of the day.
Police had been looking for a 26-year-old man after a pursuit earlier in the day.
The armed offenders squad was deployed and an area around Norwood St was cordoned off.
Police later lifted the cordon, saying there was no immediate threat.
This evening, police said they had found the man at a Dunedin residence and he was arrested without incident.
