Two men wearing balaclavas and armed with a pistol and a knife have robbed a Dunedin dairy of cash and cigarettes and assaulted two bystanders overnight, police say.
The two men entered Regent Night `n Day, at the bottom of Regent Rd in North Dunedin, about 12.30am, said Senior Sergeant Mel Aitken of Dunedin police.
As they left the dairy a bystander and a newspaper delivery woman were assaulted and injured, she said.
The armed pair were believed to have driven off in silver or white station wagon.
