A group of ducklings and their mother were deliberately mown down by a truck driver in front of a group of tourists, Queenstown police say.
Sergeant Keith Newell said a member of the public contacted them about 8am yesterday to report the male driver of a black truck had "intentionally accelerated" towards the birds crossing Robins Rd.
Only two ducklings survived the incident, which occurred in front of a group of tourists waiting to board a bus, Sgt Newell said.
