The Papakura District Council has extended the deadline for Drury's dog lady Anne Power to neuter her eight surviving dogs.
Ms Power and her partner, Roger Jones, kept 50 dogs on their Drury property until council animal services officers seized 43 of them two weeks ago.
Forty-two of the dogs were put down last Monday, ending a two-year legal battle between Ms Power, the council and her neighbours.
Ms Power has been declared a probationary owner, so cannot register animals under her own name.
The dogs are now registered in Mr Jones' name.
The council and Mr Jones agreed the pair could keep the surviving eight dogs, provided they were neutered by last Friday.
Although only three had been neutered when the deadline expired, the council's legal counsel, Guy Herbert, said Mr Jones would be allowed more time.
