A 17-year-old Westport boy who was poked with an electric cattle prod after he drank too much and flaked out, spent yesterday in hospital, recovering from the combination of his over-imbibing and the prod.
Police said large quantities of alcohol were drunk at a party, in Woolshed Road, Cape Foulwind.
Police investigating the incident were unable to find the cattle prod or establish who did the prodding.
