Drunk students pelt firefighters with bottles

Fire Service chiefs in Dunedin will seek meetings with the police and city council this week, after firefighters were pelted with bottles by drunken students as they battled to extinguish more than eight rubbish fires at the weekend.

The attacks were not the first. A firefighter was cut by a beer bottle thrown at him while extinguishing a couch fire earlier in the year.
